50 lines of text in double column. The two anonymous woodcuts are each 16 lines in length 9.4 x 7.3 cm. (See Arnim, Schäfer294). This leaf comes from the original Paris edition of 1488.

One of the rarest and most extensively illustrated French incunables. It is a French adaptation of Rudimentum novitiorum, an abridged history of the world, first published at Lübeck in 1475. La Mer des Hystoires was first published in Paris: Pierre Le Rouge, July 1488. 


A fine leaf from the original first edition of one of the most important early French Icunabula.
