This photo was taken at Allen De Loach’s residence in Buffalo, NY after a performance of Naked Lunch in the spring of 1975. James Grauerholz (b. 1953 Coffeyville, KS) is Burrough’s literary executor and biographer, and served as the late author’s personal assistant and publicist during his lifetime. After serving in the Marine Corps, De Loach travelled to New York City, where he was part of group and movement surroung Allen Ginsburg. De Loach was a poet, publisher and photographer, publishing numerous books at the time and editing the Beat anthology The East Side Scene (1968).
