To art historian Julius Meier-Graefe regarding the publication "Die Kunst der Gegenwart" and submitting an image. The final portfolio had 47 facsimiles after works by contemporary artists and the deluxe edition had a supplement of 6 original prints among Corinth, Max Beckmann, Paul Klee and Lyonel Feininger.

Corinth made the portrait of the recipient in 1912, the painting is now in the Musee d'Orsay, Paris.
