Yves Chaudouët
Monotypes 1997 to 2018

Yves Chaudouët originally focused on the making of small-scale monotypes of a mysteriously expressive, dream-related or fairy-tale-like character. Nowadays there are no limits to his creativity: from etchings to ultra-precise photographs, from videos to abstract drawings, from installations to figurative paintings, his intuitive working ranges across all areas of the fine arts. He seems at home in the pictorial universe in its entirety, disregarding as meaningless all the categorisations, limitations and boundaries so carefully upheld and expected in the contemporary art market. (Peter Stephan Jungk, Auf der Suche nach dem Irrlicht. Translation by Anne Puetz).
