Born in Damascus, Syria, in 1934, Marwan Kassab-Bachi, called Marwan moved to Berlin in 1957 where he spent his entire career until his death in 2016.
A tireless explorer of the human soul, Marwan's work revolves around four major themes: Figures, Faces (including self-portraits and the Gesichtslandschafts he invented in the 1970s), Still Lifes and Puppets.
Our display is the most comprehensive in the art market on Marwan’s graphic oeuvre from the 1970s, which can be considered as the formative years of his career.
