O excesso mais perfeito. 2019
Judith Rothchild
* 1950 in Boston
The poem by Ana Luísa Amaral and its translation from the Portuguese into French by Isabel Meyrelles are printed on loose sheets in an edition of twenty.
Size: 30.4 x 52 cm.
The poem accompanies mezzotints by Judith Rothchild, the centerfold “Festin” (30 x 80 cm) and its echo on the title page, printed on Hahnemühle paper.
The mezzotints as well as the screen prints which cover the clamshell boxes were printed by the artist. The screenprints, that are also on the backs of the eight text pages, repeat the same pattern as the tablecloth of the "Festin" mezzotint in much paler changing colours.
The hand set letterpress in Vendôme romain 24 pt, was composed and printed on Rives BFK tan and grey on a Vandercook press N°4 by Mark Lintott, who also created the clamshell boxes.
The colophons are signed by the artist and author.
