Lichens, an original text by Marie Rouanet is accompanied by nine mezzotints in-text and an embossment by Judith Rothchild. The author and artist explore in prose and images the miniature world of lichens. The book is printed on Hahnmühle paper as a leporello with wrappers of Mineralis by Thibierge & Comar. Numbered and signed by the author and the artist. Edition of 50. Size: 20.3 x 12 cm.
The mezzotints, as well as the screenprints on the end-papers, slipcases and boxes, were printed by the artist. The letterpress, hand set in Ramsès Maigre, was printed on an Adana 8" x 5", by Mark Lintott. The boxes and slipcases are by Claude Vallin.
The deluxe edition of fourteen copies (1/50 to 14/50), is presented in clamshell boxes and includes an original signed mezzotint printed exclusively for this edition as well as a short text in the hand of the author. The first eight also include an original copper plate. The books numbered 15/50 to 50/50 are presented in slipcases. Copies 45/50 to 50/50 are not for sale. The copy number 50/50 is reserved for the Bibliothèque Nationale de France.
