Very fine impression with plate tone. One of only five etchings by the artist.
In 1677/78, Herregouts is listed as a Master of the guild of St. Luke in Antwerp. He was then active in Bruges from 1682, and is again listed as a Master in this city in 1684. It is possible that the artist visited Italy in his youth.
