Prints from the 1970s

Born in Damascus, Syria, in 1934, Marwan Kassab-Bachi, called Marwan moved to Berlin in 1957 where he has since spent his entire career.

A tireless explorer of the human soul, Marwan's work revolves around four major themes : Figures, Faces (including self-portraits and the Gesichtslandschafts he invented in the 1970s), Still Lifes and Puppets.

Our focus is on his printed oeuvre from the 1970s which can be considered as the formative years of his carreer.
