The lithograph was drawn by Scheffer after his own painting in reverse in 1826. The painting was exhibited at the 1824 Salon, and, according to an inscription at the back of the painting, the lithograph shows a few variations (Musée Magnin, Dijon (1938 F 877). >A fine impression on a full sheet of one of Scheffer's own lithographs.
